Communication Studies is an interdisciplinary, liberal arts program designed to help students develop such fundamental communication skills as information gathering and processing, problem solving, and audience analysis, as well as facility in written, oral and visual communication.
Students learn to persuade, to influence and to negotiate, to generate and adapt ideas, to design projects and develop programs, and to plan, organize, evaluate, and solve problems. Ample opportunity is afforded for extensive practical experience in a variety of communication fields including journalism, advertising and public relations. The program also offers several course sequences to complement work done in a number of other liberal arts and professional majors.
Communication Arts is a great choice for a major if you are planning to go to law school. See more choices at Pre-Professional Studies.
