Admission Criteria & Application Procedure
International Students
The College of Mount St. Joseph conducts a comprehensive and individualized review of every candidate’s credentials for admission including, but not limited to, the following: a college prep high school curriculum, strong grade point average, standardized test scores, evidence of leadership, and extracurricular involvement. In addition, students’ personal background, attributes and individual life circumstances are taken into consideration. The College of Mount St. Joseph seeks students who would contribute to, and benefit from, the educational programs and activities we offer.
The College of Mount St. Joseph offers admission on a rolling basis. Students who wish to apply for traditional undergraduate admission must submit the following:
1. Submit a completed application, along with the $25.00 application fee.
2. Submit an official high school transcript showing course work and grades. Students who have completed any post-secondary course work should also submit those official transcripts.
- Results Ohio Graduation Test (OGT) must be submitted (Ohio students only).
- The admission process is not complete until a final official transcript is received after high school graduation.
3. Forward TOEFL scores. Our code number for the TOEFL is 1129. TOEFL Requirements: 510 (180 computer-based = 64 Internet-based).
4. Include two letters of recommendation and a personal essay (encouraged). In some cases these items are required.
5. If you are a permanent resident, please provide a copy of your Alien Registration (green card).
6. If applying for scholarships, please forward SAT or ACT scores. Our code for the ACT is 3254. Our code for the SAT is 1129.
A tuition deposit of $100 is payable within 30 days of acceptance to the College. This deposit is applied to the cost of the first semester of attendance. The $100 deposit is refundable until May 1.
Readmission
If a student is accepted to the College and does not enroll for the semester they have indicated on their application, the student must reapply for admission. Please contact the Office of Admission directly to request an application or update your records.
Project EXCEL

Home-Schooled Applicants
The Mount welcomes applications from home-schooled students. Students who are home schooled must submit an application for admission, application fee, transcripts along with any documentation from the state or national home schooling accreditation agency, and ACT and/or SAT scores. Students may also be asked to interview with a member of the admission staff.
