At the College of Mount St. Joseph, students can take their learning outside of the classroom with programs in study abroad as well as travel study and cultural immersion.
A travel study experience helps to enrich our students' understanding of the world, and as society continually becomes more global, students who travel learn how we can become more globally-minded citizens.
Study Abroad
Currently, the Mount maintains a partnership with Richmond University in London, England, to offer a formal study abroad option to Mount students for one or two semesters. Admission to the program is through the American Institute for Foreign Study (AIFS). However, there are study abroad programs around the world for college students. Students are encouraged to speak with the MSJ Travel Coordinator if they wish to study abroad. Contact Dan Mader at Dan_Mader@mail.msj.edu or (513) 244-4317 to discuss the many options.
Short-Term Travel Study
Short-Term Travel Study programs are domestic or international learning opportunities similar to study abroad but for shorter time frames. Different locations are offered throughout the year and include Egypt, Berlin, Japan, Greece, Ghana, Rome, and more. Individual academic departments organize travel study programs. Contact Dan Mader at Dan_Mader@mail.msj.edu or (513) 244-4317 to discuss travel study.
Cultural Immersion
For students desiring a service component in their learning, the cultural immersion courses are organized through the Department of Religious and Pastoral Studies and offer field experiences in places such as the Appalachian Mountains, Red Cloud Mission, S.D., Cherokee, N.C., and the U.S./Mexico border.
