Prof. Dan Mader on
the Nile in 2006 |
Dear alumni,
As the American Express TV commercial used to begin, “do you know me?” I am Professor Dan Mader, from the Department of Art and Design. I have taught art history, sculpture, drawing, painting, design, 3-D design and IDS 100 to thousands of students—maybe you. I have advised and supervised scores of students in London work/study. Beyond this, I have led hundreds of students/alumni/friends to Europe for spring break.
More recently, with Dr. Mike Klabunde of the Humanities Department, and Dr. Gene Kritsky of the Biology Department, we take students for exciting short-term summer courses to Greece and Egypt. Visit my web site at

My work with quality academic travel experiences is now focused on developing outstanding academic travel experiences for our alumni and friends. I have just been appointed Travel Coordinator for the College. In this new role, my goal is to develop a regular schedule of exciting 10-16 day trips, wherein one travels with interesting participants, for minimal cost, to exciting locations here in the US, and overseas.
Here at the Mount, existing targeted trips for you to join, are led by two professors from the college, and enhanced by on-site guest professors, and local guides. There are lecture/hands-on discovery opportunities before, during, and after the field trip. More trips, to accommodate a wide range of interests, are in the concept, or development stage. We want to know what interests you?
In the fall, there will begin formal promotion for alumni to join existing and planned 2009 trips.
I solicit your interest on this project, by
completing the survey.
I ask two items from you:
1. rating of your interest level for specific existing trips, trip concepts, or trips under development;
2. your e-mail address to form a database, if you are interested.
Obviously, there is no obligation of participation in this survey.
Take the survey and let us know where you'd like to go!
